CARE

TAKE CARE OF YOUR GARMENTS

Alpaca fiber becomes more beautiful over time if properly cared for. This is why we give you here our tips!

Hand-wash. The best way to care for your garment in baby alpaca fiber is to wash it by hand in cold water with a mild shampoo, without using fabric softener, which would unnecessarily soften the fiber and could be harmful to both health and the environment. Gently massage your garment and rinse with plenty of cold water. Wring it out without wringing it out by rolling it in a terry towel to absorb excess water, then lay it flat on another dry towel.

Machine washing. If you have a machine with a fiber or delicate program, you can machine-wash your alpaca garment. It’s best to put your Sweet Alpaca in a washing bag or pillowcase, to prevent it from deforming. Select a cold water temperature with a maximum of 20° and a low spin cycle, maximum 400°. Use a mild detergent without fabric softener. Shape your garment and dry flat on a terry towel, preferably out of direct sunlight.

Check the water temperature. Temperature variations cause all fibers to felt; water should be cold or at a maximum temperature of 20°, but above all it should be at a constant temperature, and you should wash and rinse at the same temperature. So, if you are washing by machine, make sure you wash and rinse at the same temperature; and if you are washing by hand, leave the tap running for the duration of the wash and rinse.

Ironing. Our baby alpaca garments require very little ironing. If necessary, iron very lightly inside out at low temperature, placing a thin cloth between the iron and the garment.
